Meet the Upward Enterprises Staff – Travis Creamer

I started my career as a challenge course facilitator in 1991 working at a camp. In November of that same year, I enlisted into the US Army Reserve and was trained as a 91B10 Combat Medic. After leaving the Army, I worked for Inner Quest leading adventure programs, trips and eventually building ropes courses. During this time, I also worked a summer for Outward Bound which helped hone my outdoor primitive skills and helped my father run his contracting business.

In the fall of 2002, I began working for Project Adventure as a lead ropes course builder. Wanting to complete my education, I went back to school and attended Ohio University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education. Eventually I returned to Maryland and started to work at Upward Enterprises in the fall of 2012. This year I will be celebrating my 5th year with Upward Enterprises as the ropes course manager. What I like most about working here at Upward Enterprises is getting to meet all the young people who come out to the ropes course and watching them bond as a group and grow as an individual. It reminds me of when I was younger working at camp. I guess I never left.

I also enjoy coaching youth sports especially lacrosse.
